A visit to Buckingham Palace was the highlight of the week for three staff at Newson Gale who are based in Colwick, Nottingham. The visit was part of the company’s celebration of their winning a Queens Award for Enterprise 2005.

Jon Moore and Rachael Stevenson joined the Director, Graham Tyers on the memorable trip to London. ‘It was a once in a lifetime experience for me to visit the Palace and something not to be forgotten’ commented Jon Moore the company’s Logistics Manager.
‘It was really fun driving through the gates of the palace with all the tourists wondering who we were. I was honoured to be selected by the other members of staff to represent the company – I would not have missed it for the world’ commented Rachael Stevenson who as Export Sales Executive has been directly involved with the export sales.
Graham Tyers, the Managing Director responsible for leading the company to achieving 70% increase in export sales in 3 years flew in for the week from the USA were he is now heading up the company’s newly established sales and marketing office.
Director Graham Tyers commented. ‘The opportunity to join other award winners at the reception at the Palace was a great bonus and reward for the team. It was a real treat’. He also added - ‘Having an innovative product such as our patented ‘Bond-Rite’ self testing clamp for preventing electrostatic sparks in hazardous areas is a great door opener for new markets both in Europe and America. The award is proof of how effective our export strategy has been’.
Two days after the visit to the palace the staff enjoyed an award ceremony at which the Lord Lieutenant of Nottingham, joined by the Mayor of Gedling, presented the award certificate and glass chalice on behalf of the Queen. Joined by customers and suppliers the ceremony 'followed by lunch' was held at the aptly named European Suite at the Nottingham Forest Football Club.
