Whenever flammable liquids or powders are
transferred to or from tanker trucks, railcars,
drums, containers or virtually any other
conductive equipment, the new intrinsically safe
Earth-Rite PLUS™ static ground indicator and
interlock system from Newson-Gale Inc. ensures
that a low-resistance connection to ground has
been established before transfer can begin.

The Earth-Rite PLUS system consists of an
explosion proof (XP) controller with intrinsically
safe monitoring module, a universal ground
clamp with 32-foot retractable twin-core Cen-Stat™
cable, and a ground-connection junction
box with storage pin for the clamp. The system is
approved for use in hazardous locations, and it
conforms to the requirements of all major US
and international static control codes of practice.
In operation, a dissipation path of less than
10 ohms is verified and confirmed by an indicator
light before transfer is enabled. Key features of the system include: a modular design that simplifies
field wiring and system installation; use of a universal ground clamp which is suitable for connection to all common tankers, drums, containers and conductive plant equipment; a design that meets the requirement of NFPA 77 recommended practice on static electricity.
Available options include a quick-connect plug and socket fitted to the junction box and cable
allowing quick and easy cable/clamp replacement when necessary or a 50-foot self retracting cable reel with maintenance-free ultra-low resistance contacts, replacing the standard cable and junction box.
The Earth-Rite Plus static ground indicator and interlock system is just part of the Cenelectrex®
range of static grounding and bonding equipment available from Newson Gale Inc., the Lakewood,
NJ based specialists in static control for hazardous areas.
